WHAT IS TELETHERAPY?
Teletherapy connects students to one of our specialized and credentialed Speech-Language Pathologists or Occupational Therapists, virtually, through a secure, user friendly, and interactive video-conferencing platform.
Therapy services, and goal implementation, are similar to those one would receive in person, but with activities tailored to a virtual environment.
HOW DOES TELEPRACTICE WORK?
Successful and efficient virtual therapy services simply require a connection to the internet, using a device with a working microphone, speaker, and webcam.
Our innovative online platform is user friendly, accessible through a variety of devices, and allows for a high level of interactivity through screen-sharing, annotation, and more!
Virtual Therapy sessions can be done near anywhere – as long as the student can connect online, and work in a quiet environment that allows the student and therapist to hear each other clearly, and provides minimal interruptions or distractions for the student.
IS TELETHERAPY EFFECTIVE?
Teletherapy is backed by an ever-growing body of academic research. In fact, well over 100 studies from accredited universities and research organizations have concluded that online therapy is not only effective, but also produces similar, if not highly competitive outcomes compared to onsite therapy.
IS TELETHERAPY APPROVED?
Teletherapy is compliant to all of the same requirements as in-person therapy (HIPAA, FERPA, COPPA, IDEA). Virtual services are endorsed by many
leading organizations, as teletherapy provides more opportunities, and increased accessability, for students to receive Speech-Language and Occupational Therapy.
